Programme 06 · Career Readiness & Real-World Exposure

Connecting today's classroom to tomorrow's careers

Career guidance, mentors and real-world experiences help learners discover what is possible, choose subjects with purpose and plan a confident path after school.

Mentors and professionals

Real-world ready

Meet the people doing the jobs you dream about.

About the programme

Helping learners see what is possible

Many young people choose subjects and careers with very little information about the options open to them. Meeting real professionals and exploring the world of work early widens their horizons.

Learners explore their interests and strengths, learn about career paths and the subject combinations that lead to them, hear from professionals and plan their next steps after Form 4 (CSEE) and Form 6 (ACSEE), with parents involved along the way.

Who it is for

Learners from Form 1 to Form 6, with their parents and guardians

What it focuses on

Self-discovery, career exploration, subject choices, mentoring and planning

How it runs

Career sessions, talks with professionals and mentoring, co-designed with each school

What learners build

Four steps to a confident career path

Know yourself

Understanding personal interests, strengths and values.

Explore careers

Discovering the wide range of careers open to them.

Choose with purpose

Linking subject choices to future goals.

Real-world connections

Meeting mentors and professionals who open doors.

Why it matters

Young people's ambitions are narrowing

Learners cannot aim for careers they have never heard of. Contact with people in work is strongly linked with better employment later in life.
