Why it matters
The gap is real. The opportunity is now.
Too many young Tanzanians leave school with strong exam results but little practice in leading, solving real problems or finding their way into work. Leadership, entrepreneurship, emotional intelligence and digital skills are still largely missing from the standard curriculum. Pathfinder exists to close that gap, and we can only do it at scale with partners, mentors and champions beside us.

Where your skills make a difference
You do not need to be a teacher. Learners need to meet people who have built careers, businesses and lives they can imagine for themselves. We brief every volunteer before their first session.

Who can get involved with Pathfinder?
Schools, educators, professionals, parents, organisations and funders. If you care about preparing young Tanzanians for life beyond exams, there is a role for you.
Do I need teaching experience to volunteer?
No. We are looking for people with real-world experience to share. We brief every volunteer on the session format and the learners before they start.
How much time does volunteering take?
It is flexible. A guest talk can take an hour or two, while mentoring usually means short, regular check-ins. You choose what fits your schedule.
How does a school partnership work?
We start with a conversation with your school leadership to understand your goals, then agree together on which programmes to bring in and how we will support your teachers and learners.
How is financial support used?
Funding goes into delivering programmes in schools: training educators, running learner workshops and providing learning materials. Get in touch and we will share how you can support a specific programme.
